I hear people say all the time, "I want to move to Orangeville because it's safer than Toronto."
In fact, I thought the same thing when I moved here.

While the national crime rate is down, reports say violent crime is rising in smaller towns. Read the article for some strange and interesting phenomenon. I was surprised at some of the cities mentioned.
FYI, Orangeville is a very safe town, but it still has problems, albeit few and far between. It was not mentioned in the article, if you're wondering. :)
It's important to speak to an expert about the neighbourhood you want to live. In our experience, lifestyle, comfort and peace of mind are much more important than the typical "3-bed, 2-bath" conversation.
