Stop The Quarry - Day 5 (120km Walk to Protest The Propossed Melancthon Quarry)

Well it's the final day of the walk to protest the Melanchthon (Highland Company) Quarry or open pit mine as I call it.

The protesters have walked 120 km from Queens Park in Toronto up to a farm in Melanchton Township!

All ages joined in and helped raise awareness.......AND IT WORKED!!!!!! CBC, CTV, ATV, A Channel in Barrie, 680 NEWS, APTN, The Toronto Star, Hamilton Press and so many others have picked up the story..... Nice JOB everyone :)  I think we had about 1000 walkers durning the total walk and

I believe the author Margaret atwood has just tweeted it out to her followers!

4. Open The Windows

Ok, regardless of the current season. Even if it’s cold outside, even better. Open your bedroom windows, your living room windows, your kitchen windows. Let the fresh air inside, welcome the small buzz of the city waking up, silently watch the last forces of the night walking away.  When I have a bad day, I open the window get my journal and start writing.....When I'm done it's like the bad parts of the day just didn't happen :)

Let yourself be refreshed. The yesterday you is no longer there and the today you is slowly getting in shape. Those open windows will unconsciously allow you to receive change and novelty with much more ease during the day.

3. Be Grateful For Something

I point my mind to something I'm really grateful for and stay there for 5 minutes.  This might be my family, my wealth, my health or just my present moment.  I Feel grateful for it (sometimes I cry, it can be that powerful).  There’s nobody between me and that thought, there’s nobody watching or listening. I’m free to feel grateful and happy and embrace the feeling.

And then I start my day as usual. It’s only 5 minutes, yet the impact of such a day starter is overwhelming: whenever I’m doing it I feel like I can do anything I put my mind to.....for the entire day.

2. Enjoy The Morning Silence..Really :)

And do nothing. Just feel the silence and let it spread over your mind and body. I’m always fascinated by all the little noises that are born from that morning silence: from my familiar house noises (wife and daughter waking up, steps, windows, doors) up to the neighborhood noises (car engines, low voices, small buzz).

Everything starts in that silence and sometimes I think that if I focus enough on it I could actually predict, or even create all those little noises.

Now that is something to think about yea.

1. Write In Your Journal

I love the morning stillness and the unspoken promise of something ready to start, it's like a blank page in  my journal just waiting for my thoughts and actions.  Mornings are fantastic for journaling. Whenever I do it, I feel like I already consumed several hours from that day and yet I’m only at the very beginning of it.

Journaling acts like a mind emptier and out of nowhere I feel energized and ready to go. Not to mention that in the morning I have less inhibitors and my journaling is far more authentic.

Being a Realtor I find myself needing to clear my mind of all my daily thoughts and plans.  By writing it down on paper it allows me to focus on my clients so that I can be useful and give them 110%.

Start one!! You have the pen and paper don't you :)

30 Ways to Feel Better!

I think mornings are underrated. I consider them fundamental for the whole l days experience. What I do in the very first moments of the morning will fundamentally and inexorably shape my entire day. Most of the time I spend my mornings by routinely performing some habits, you know....on auto pilot. Hence, my days will routinely unfold towards me, the same way day after day, on auto pilot......Grrr!  I had to change this.  So what did I do?

Every morning when I wake up I consciously insert my intentions in these very first moments and it has a huge effect. Taking charge of those moments it’s like activating some subtle, unconscious triggers which will ultimately determine my whole daily experience, exactly the way I want.  Mornings are so fundamental. That's why I experiment a lot with my very first moments of each and every day.
